Capital markets, which are in a state of buoyancy since the beginning of the year, continue to be at the centre of investment action. Some of the key trends observed in the third quarter of 2017 as per this report are:
- The largest quantum of capital in Q3 2017 was raised through Equity Capital Markets, led by the SBI Life Insurance IPO, one of the largest in recent times demonstrating the strengths of the Indian IPO environment
- PE investors’ seem to be extremely cautious and this is clearly reflected in the steep decline in the deal activity
- Q3 2017 witnesses smaller M&A activity: no mega M&A deals
- Despite fewer deals, the value of investments in startups was in line with the same period last year as one mega deal contributed more than 20% to the total value of investments...and more.
