During the first half of 2023, PE investment activity slowed considerably. Funding activity, impacted by liquidity crunch, resulted in just 541 deals.
For PE and VC funds, the first 6 months of the year 2023 were challenging, with the lowest number of funds launching in the last 5 years. Even the PE exit activity reached a reached a 5 year low in H1 2023.
Owing to global challenges from rising interest rates and inflation, even the M&A activity fell in the first half of 2023. On the other hand, deal activity in the Equity Capital Markets reached an all-time high in H1 2023.
